1. Welcome! (Cassy + board)

  • Welcome from the PTA president
  • Introduction of executive board members
  • Brief overview of the PTA’s purpose + docs

2. President’s Report

  • Re-vamping our Spirit Wear fundraiser
    • Multiple vendors + merch
      • Giving people more options for spirit wear and will be up all year. 
    • Online shops TBD
  • Family engagement
    • Food truck event
    • Family engagement will be a focus this year.  
    • Will have another food truck event in the spring based on the success of the fall event.
  • Communication – have a new position of someone leading and will expect to see more streamlined communications.

    • Social Media
    • Website 
  • Contributions + commitment – we appreciate and encourage all participation.
    • All contributions are welcome and appreciated
    • Volunteering can look however you want/need it to
    • Sharing ideas and giving time – any amount – matters

    • Todd Lane Dance: Friday, 9/18
      • Fundraiser and kids get pizza and water
    • TL Open House: Thursday, September 24
      • Starts off the book fair
    • TL Book Fair: 9/24-10/1
  • Field Trips
    • Budget $15 per student in each grade, for a maximum of $2,800 per grade.
    • The PTA fully funds the field trips for each grade 
    • The school is responsible for transportation costs
    • Purse Bash is the primary source for funding
  • Process
    • Cassy and Shannon cc’d on all communications
    • Anything being sent to school community must be approved by superintendent
      • All comms to and through school cc Cassy and Shannon
    • Cassy creates all Signup Geniuses + QR codes

    • Reminder to cc on all communications
  • Treasurer (Anne)
    • Forms (see website)
    • Checkbook for reimbursements
    • Anne appreciates reminders.  If you haven’t heard back from her, reach out to her.
  • VP Fundraising (Emily + Erin)
    • CV Spirit Bear
      • Sold 62 bears (57 pre-order and 6 onsite). Profits $288.33
      • We have 20ish bears left.  If anyone can sell at Open House, we will do that.  We may also put them on the website. And any remaining we are thinking of adding to Penguin Patch at cost $16.
    • Todd Lane Dance
      • Close to 170 tickets have been sold so far. Online orders close night of 9/15
      • Looking to make $1,000 for this.  If it goes well, we will consider doing it in the spring.
    • Spirit Wear (Erin)
      • 8 vendors. They come up with their own designs and will be placed on the website. 
    • Next up: Warrior Cards & Purse Bash, opinions on candy sale
      • Warrior Cards in November.  Purse Bash in January – always open for donations and baskets.  We are going to try and assemble massive grade-level themed baskets.  Rosalinds in the spring – do we want to do it again or try something new based on the fact that everyone sells chocolate. 
  • VP Committees  (Katie)
    • Back to School Breakfast recap-Katie Kubis
      • Falls under teacher appreciations.  Ordered from Petite Bakery and a new try. Went very well. Friday before the first day of school.  
      • Total spent:  $1300
      • Up next is Holiday Breakfast in December.  Will have Roaming Bean
    • Book Fair: (9/24 TL and 10/8 CG)- Lindsey Laughrey
      • Forms went home at TL already.  ½ slots are filled up for volunteers but still room for me. 
      • Teacher Wish Lists – still figuring out how to handle the teacher books. Thinking maybe doing something online and having teacher lists online. If you have any ideas or join Lindsey’s committee, please reach out. 
    • Trunk or Treat: (10/17 at Center Grange’s parking lots)- Andria Misco, Abby Wise and Rachel Phillips
      • Have food trucks they are talking to. Looking for face painters. 
      • Want to create a Facebook page and have created a Trunk or Treat email for communications. 
      • Trunk signups will be coming up once the School Board votes on the approval. 
      • Target will be donating candy and possibly pizza free as well for kids. 
    • Date to note: Donuts with your Darling (November 14)-Maria Macio
      • They do Cookie with your Rookie in the winter. 
    • Open committees
      • Snoogie Boogie
        • PTA provides tissue and hand sanitizer and Clorox Wipes to the teachers. Very much appreciated.
          • Oct/Nov 
          • Feb
          • Anastasia Volante and Jillian Hopkins will chair 
      • Programs + Assemblies
        • 3 program/assemblies for each school and looking for new suggestions.
        • Open this year to ideas and will need committee chairs.
  • Membership (Caroline)
    • 230 current members. Still processing forms, thank you for your patience! 🙂
    • If anyone has questions about clearance expiration dates, email me cvtpamembership@gmail.com
    • Notary and forms will be available at both TL and CG Open Houses for fingerprint affidavits
    • Current Teacher Tally Top Earners for membership drive parties.
  • Communications (Julie)
    • Did people enjoy having the first newsletter and find it informative?
      • Teachers and parents appreciate
      • Idea to scan QR card for book fair wish lists.
      • Newsletters go out the first week of every month
    • Is there anything we can add to increase engagement?
