Good morning!
We’ve had a lot of questions come up in regards to clearances with the our first party fast approaching!
1. Caitlyn has the link to the CV clearance page pinned in “Features” on the CV PTA facebook page for easy reference, or you can go to https://www.centralvalleysd.org/Clearances.aspx.
(Did you know the clearance database we use is run by central administration? So when you send you clearances in your child’s folder they are sent to that office which can take a few days! The PTA acts as a “middle man” to help members and other volunteers stay up-to-date with their qualifications – we do not put them into the system.)
2. The Volunteer Clearance Database is NOT connected to any other organizations or activities. If you turned clearances in for your child’s sport or activity you need to also send them in to the school if you wish to volunteer. For this reason, it is best to keep a copy at home with you so that you can copy & submit as needed.
3. School employees (cafeteria workers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, etc.) – if you plan to volunteer, please tell HR (Amy) to also put your clearances on the volunteer database to help avoid any hiccups when we check for clearances.
4. If you are a PTA member (you paid your $10 annual dues) then, as a courtesy, Emily Onufrak would have emailed you if your clearances needed updated this year!
In other news, thank you to everyone who has volunteered for the Halloween parties! Every year the office gets a rush of clearances trying to get them in for the parties. Unfortunately, right now, they are a little behind in updating this information. They have a lot going on, so we are going to give them some grace and we ask that you please do the same for us.
We will be sending the papers home Friday, October 6th, to the volunteers who will be in charge of planning the classroom parties. Please help spread the word to friends who might not be on FB or PTA members!
Trunk or Treat participant forms are due next week on October 11. That event, again, is Saturday, Oct. 21 from 5-7pm. Please return your volunteer forms as soon as possible if you would like to help with the event, or see event chair, Lauren Leone.
Finally, you will be receiving information about our upcoming event “Donuts with your Darling” being held on Saturday, November 4 from 9-11am. This event is replacing the spring “Muffins in the Morning” event from the past 2 years. Same idea, just a new time of year and with donuts, lead by event chair, Katilyn Dewell! Donuts with your Dude will still take place in the winter months.
