PTA Meeting Recap 10/5

We are so sorry that we could not get the zoom working. Rebecca tried her best and had everything ready to go and we just couldn’t get connected. She might try again in November so stay tuned! She had really wanted to connect people who just couldn’t make it but would like to listen it. Thank you for trying Bec!

So with that said…. Here is a wrap up of the meeting….

💙 First, thank you so much to everyone who came! It was so exciting to see you all and hear you all chatting and laughing! I feel like it’s been forever since our last meeting and hearing that always reminds me of a small part of why we do this. To bring people together. Please bring more friends next time!!!

💙 I have posted here already a challenge to become involved in our community organizations. I feel like community service is so fulfilling and needed! I then challenged everyone there and now all of you who take the time to read this to take it to the next level and consider a position of leadership in our community. And I honestly do mean any organization that you feel a draw to. But as far as our organization the need for people interested in leadership positions is immediate. Myself and our VP are at the end of our terms and are ready for fresh people to come in and put their own spin on this great group. It is not easy. It’s a lot of work. It takes a lot of dedication and care. But it is 100 percent worth it. I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything and have met so many wonderful people and the kids…. They are just the best! Our membership chair who has been in place for the last 4 years is also at the end of her term and her youngest kiddo is moving on to middle school! She is willing to help work with anyone interested now so that they are ready to go next year. Now is definitely the time to let us know you are interested in these positions so that we can help you learn the ropes. I jumped in from party mom, VP to president in 6 months…. I don’t recommend doing it that way! 🤣😂🤣

💙 So far this year we have already had our Meet n Greet event, ordered the free fall spirit shirts for the kids that should be here by mid October, bought each student headphones that will go home at the end of the year with them, helped to collect food pantry donations at the Open Houses and meet with some of our families, and purchased kindergarten books.

💙 Our treasurer, Rebecca, went over our financial report for the school year so far and discussed her forms and guidelines that can be found on our website, centralvalleypta.org, or she would be happy to send any info you need if you reach out to her at [email protected]
As a side note to that…. While we want to give you all any information you want, we also want to cut back on our paper waste by printing everything out. Obviously if you want a copy of something we will get it to you but we prefer to start using more electronic copies of some of our documents like our Bylaws, standing rules, budget, etc… that can be sent out by reaching out to any of our executive board members.

💙 Children’s Programs will be kicking off with Tim Hartman coming to Center Grange this Friday! The kids love his storytelling! Amanda Rodgers is chairing this committee and would love to hear any options you know of for programs to bring into the schools for the kids!

💙 Our spirit wear sale has wrapped up! We made around $2300 on the sale! Which is awesome considering we did not want to mark up the merchandise too much this year. Our new fundraising team headed up by Shannon and Stephanie are really excited to start making some money for the PTA! Next up will be Warrior Cards and they have some amazing discounts lined up! They make a great stocking stuffer!

💙 Our membership drive has started and we already have over 200 members but we are still quite a bit away if our goal of beating last years total of 275! Send in those forms now! The classrooms are having a contest to see who has the most members in each school! The winning classes will win a party from the PTA!!!

💙 The volunteer forms have been collected for the Halloween parties and there are still classrooms who need help. If you can help and would be willing to go to a class other than your students please reach out to Stacy at [email protected] ASAP
Your clearances must be on file at the school!

💙 Trunk or Treat will be here soon! It promises to be a fun fall event with lots of treats for the kids! There will be food trucks and vendors with some food and beverages to purchase and fun activities for the kids. Please get those trunk forms in if you would like to participate. They will also need volunteers to help set up, keep everything running smooth during and clean up after. Please get ahold of Becky Jupin if you can help at [email protected]

💙 We will be holding our 2nd Annual Purse Bash on January 22, 2023. Donation letters were sent home this week. If you are interested in donating to help make this fundraising/event a success, please return these forms to the school or reach out to me her for at [email protected]
We will be advertising all donors!!!

💙 We are already thinking about Christmas!!!!! Our North Pole event is scheduled for December 3rd and our Santa’s workshop for the kids will run the following week from December 5-9! Keep an eye out for more info and volunteer forms! We will need all hands on deck!
In order to get ready for the holidays we have to decorate! Does anyone have a love for decorating for the holidays??? We need you! We need a group of people willing to decorate both schools before the kids go back to school from Thanksgiving break. Please reach out to myself or Laura Crawley if you’d be willing to help! The kids and staff love to return to a festive school!

💙 Our next meeting will be November 8th at 6:30 at the Center Grange library. I hope to see you all there to join in on the fun!

Thank you all so much!
